Our Mission To engage, enthrall, educate, and heal through a fusion of art and technology in a virtual, fantastic Seaquarium for children. Our goal is to provide SEEWALL displays, free of charge, to child-oriented organizations with limited funds, such as crisis centers, orphanages, special need centers, and child based relief organizations. SEEWALL displays give these organizations a creative tool to be utilized as a positive distraction from a stressful environment. The existing SEEWALL units were an instant success, not only within their respective institutions but in the greater community . From an anecdotal point of view, the impact was huge: children actively interacted with the units and the medical staff noticed an immediate reduction of stress levels. Quoting Ms. Sheri Stewart, MSN, “The SEEWALL has been an asset to MUSC Children’s Hospital, resulting in an imaginative and unprecedented device to alleviate pain and anxiety in children and as a tool providing optimal care for a vulnerable population ...” As a result, SEEWALL won the prestigious Blair L. Sadler International Healing Arts Competition Award whose review panel felt “ SEEWALL Child represented one of the most innovative arts projects demonstrating compelling impact on... patients”. More quantitative data is being collected and will be ready for use in modifying existing units and projects coming on line with a slightly different focus.
